Beijing!
So thankful we have made it to our first destination in China. Door to door it took us 26 hours. The flight from Detroit to Beijing was 15 hours. We travelled North from Detroit over the North pole and down over Russia to Beijing. Flying over the North Pole was pretty crazy. We would look up on the screen that monitored the flight and we could see the temperature get colder and colder. The coldest we saw was 97 below zero.
Delta was very nice. The flight attendants were so kind and they had a good variety of movies. The hardest part of the flight was that we never saw the sun. It was 15 hours of total darkness. We were very happy to land in Beijing and our trip through customs went very quickly. We were blessed to find the shuttle service to the hotel right away and were in our room by midnight.
We were up at 4:00 and at the breakfast buffet by 5:30. Everyone has been so kind and gracious to us.
Shortly we will travel by plane to Jinan where we will meet our boy!! So excited. We don’t know if it will be tonight or in the morning, but we can’t wait.
